Reggio-Emilia approach to learning

Upon the Reggio-Emilia approach, there are four principles that we follow. Briefly, these four principles allow for free-play where each child can freely decide what they will engage in based on their own interests. I do not restrict what and how they wish to spend their free-play time, I merely help when needed and engage when appropriate. In a group dynamic as well as when approaching preschool curriculum, these four principles to Reggio-Emilia are seen in how we learn and what we will learn about. All curriculum is tailored for the classroom as a mashup of the children’s interests, their families' communication and close observations and notes on what everyone has been interested in recently. An example being if the children start noticing flowers on our walks, I might spend the next few weeks working with the kids on adventures, projects and curriculum around flowers and nature. Please feel free to ask any questions about all of this!
