Owner & Educator

I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon where I met my husband and had my son Jackson. My son Jackson inspired me to put aside my chosen degree direction in Urban Planning & Development and to instead follow a career path in child development and care. We found the perfect first home in Vancouver Washington and started Family Tree daycare. After two years with such wonderful kids and families to work for, I made the tough decision to close temporarily due to a NICU loss of our daughter and a difficult pregnancy and birth of our son Quincy. Once Quincy was older, we were ready to start again (as Sage & Sunflower now), but in a new location closer to family. We found our forever home in Bethany, Oregon and opened Sage & Sunflower daycare and preschool! I love my job and find such reward in what I do.

When I am not doing Sage & Sunflower, you can find me usually in the garden (my second love), reading historical nonfiction, weightlifting/HIIT training, or lots of trail walking with my husband Edwin and our two sons.
